Platform
Backups are the platform, not an add-on
SynBaaS ships inside every SynVirt node: a dedicated backup daemon, immutable repositories and restore-as-a-new-VM — the safety net others sell separately.

- S3-compatible repositories with verified Object Lock immutability — the engine checks the lock, it never trusts the claim
- NFS and SynVirt-peer targets; write-only credentials sealed with AES-256-GCM
- Forever-incremental chains with protected anchors — an incremental is never orphaned
- Chain-aware GFS retention (daily / weekly / monthly / yearly) with a dry-run preview before any prune
- Guest-quiesced snapshots by default, with an honest crash-consistent fallback recorded on every run
- A code-enforced guardrail makes the backup daemon physically unable to touch anything that isn't a backup snapshot
Backup data never flows through the control plane, and the last 24 hours roll up on the dashboard: ok, warning, failed — with the runs one click away.
